General ultrasound scanning is used to help diagnose conditions including stones, infections, tumours, congenital abnormalities (abnormalities from birth) and problems related to the prostate gland in men. Many conditions can be diagnosed with general ultrasounds we provide at Ultrasound Plus, as the real time imaging allows for a detailed examination of the affected area.
This is particularly useful for demonstrating many causes throughout the body. An ultrasound scan may be one investigative method of diagnosing any underlying conditions, however you should consult your GP to ensure that any other investigations can be arranged.
A detailed ultrasound scan investigation to look at the size, character and shaper of kidneys, liver, gall bladder, spleen, biliary system and pancreas.
Providing a detailed look at the size, character and shape of kidneys, ureter, full bladder and empty bladder.
A painless testicular/scrotal examination. We can identify if you have a suspected testicular torsion, identify the cause of abnormal pain or determine why you’re having problems with infertility using this scan.
Sometimes a goitre will disappear on its own, but in other cases, treatment is required. A goitre ultrasound scan will enable you to make an informed decision about your thyroid health. Our ultrasound thyroid scan is safe and painless.
